14-Year-Old Boy Seriously Hurt after Petaluma Bicycle Accident at Lakeville Street and East Court
Petaluma, California (July 5, 2019) – 14-year-old bicyclist from Petaluma was severely hurt after a bicycle crash with car on Tuesday afternoon in the area of Petaluma, according to authorities.
The crash happened at about 3:20 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, at Lakeville Street and East Court.
As per the CHP officials, a teenage boy was crossing westbound Lakeville Street on his bicycle when one motorist stopped to allow him to pass but a second driver hit him.
Responding paramedics transported the boy to Santa Rosa Memorial’s trauma center for treatment of severe injuries including a fractured jaw. The name of the boy and his current condition was not immediately known.
The involved driver identified as 23-year-old Ruby Badilla-Sanchez remained at the scene and cooperated with officials.
Officials said impairment did not appear to be a factor in the crash.
An investigation is ongoing.
