1 Killed, 2 Injured in Two-Vehicle Collision on Highway 180 in Fresno

Fresno, California (April 11, 2021) – One person was killed and two others were hospitalized with major injuries after a two-vehicle collision that happened in Fresno on Saturday evening.

The fatal collision occurred on Highway 180 near DeWolf Avenue at around 5 p.m., April 10, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A man was driving a GMC Yukon eastbound on Highway 180 when the right rear tire tread separated from the tire.

The GMC then went out of control and drifted into westbound lanes where it collided head-on with an Infiniti and Ford Focus.

The driver of the Infiniti was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other two drivers suffered major injuries and were transported to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Neither alcohol nor drugs appeared to be factors in the collision.

No additional information about the accident was provided.

The CHP is investigating the accident.
