Nojoqui Summit, California (May 4, 2021) – One person was killed in a two-vehicle collision in Nojoqui Summit, Santa Barbara County, on Monday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at around 7:30 a.m. May 3, on Highway 101 near Gaviota Snarls.

A pickup truck reportedly collided with another vehicle along the northbound lanes of Highway 101 in unclear circumstances.

At least one person was killed in the accident.

Another party was trapped inside the wreckage and suffered minor injuries.

The CHP said there was heavy traffic and thick fog in the area when the accident occurred.

More details about the crash were not provided.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
