Carl Knight ID’d as 59-Year-Old Clearlake Man Killed in Lower Lake Pedestrian Crash on Highway 29 near Orchard Street
Lower Lake, California (October 17, 2020) – Carl Curtis Knight, 59, of Clearlake, has been identified as the pedestrian who was killed in a hit-and-run accident on Thursday morning in Lower Lake, authorities said.
At about 6:30 a.m., on October 15, the California Highway Patrol responded to the deadly pedestrian accident on Highway 29, just south of Orchard Street.
The CHP said Knight was walking from the west side of the road at the Power Mart towards the east side of the road when he was hit by a vehicle in the number 2 northbound lane of Highway 53.
Knight sustained major injuries and was taken to Adventist Health Clear Lake Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The driver involved fled the scene and is being sought by the police. There was no information about the suspect’s vehicle or the driver.
