Carolyn Allen Victim in Fatal San Anselmo Pedestrian Accident on Butterfield Road near Caletta Avenue
San Anselmo, California (April 30, 2019) – The woman who was fatally hit by a car in San Anselmo Saturday night has been identified as Carolyn Marie Allen, 72, of San Anselmo, according to the Marin County Sheriff’s Office.
The deadly accident took place at about 10:00 p.m. April 27 at 300 block of Butterfield Road near Caletta Avenue.
According to the authorities, Allen was walking her two dogs across Butterfield Road in a marked crosswalk when they were hit by a car driven by James Boswell, 30 of San Anselmo.
Responding paramedics found Allen unconscious and unresponsive at the scene. She was taken to Marin General Hospital, where she later died.
One of the dogs was also killed in the accident.
Boswell was arrested and booked into Marin County Jail on a $500,000 bail on suspicion of DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
The police are investigating the accident.
