16-Year-Old Dayvon McCoy Killed in Fresno Pedestrian Crash at Valentine and Shields Avenues
Fresno, California (November 7, 2019) – 16-year-old Dayvon Fletcher McCoy has been identified as the boy who was killed in a pedestrian accident on Tuesday evening in the area of Fresno, according to a local news source.
The deadly collision happened at about 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 5, at Valentine and Shields Avenues.
As per the report, McCoy and a 14-year-old friend were both walking northbound on the side of Valentine Avenue when they were hit by a Ford pickup.
Responding emergency crews transported McCoy to Community Regional Medical Center, where he later died. The 14-year-old sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene of the crash.
The driver of the Ford, Albert Isaac Fimbrez, 54, sustained minor injuries in the collision. Authorities said Fimbrez was driving while drunk and he was arrested on murder charges as he had multiple prior DUI convictions. He was booked into the Fresno County Jail.
An investigation is ongoing.
