1 Killed in San Bernardino Car Accident on Del Rosa Avenue near Eureka Street
Fatal Head-On Collision on Del Rosa Avenue in San Bernardino
San Bernardino, California (February 23, 2021) – A driver was killed in a collision involving two vehicles on Sunday night in San Bernardino.
According to California Highway Patrol, the crash involved a 2013 Jeep Wrangler and a 2000 Toyota Camry and was reported at around 7:48 p.m. on Del Rosa Avenue near Eureka Street.
The Jeep driver, Erick Favela, 23, of San Bernardino, was traveling northbound on Del Rosa Avenue and had come to a complete stop intending to make a left turn.
At the same time, the Toyota driver, a 25-year-old man, from San Bernardino, was heading south on Del Rosa Avenue when, for unknown reasons, he allowed his car to enter the northbound lane and collided head-on with the Jeep.
The Toyota driver suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
No other injuries were immediately reported.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
