Ian Martin Identified as Man Killed in Long Beach Bicycle Accident on Los Coyotes Diagonal near Palo Verde Avenue
Long Beach, California (February 2, 2019) – The 62-year-old Long Beach man who was killed in a bicycle accident Wednesday morning in Long Beach has been identified as Ian Martin, according to the authorities.
The fatal accident took place at about 11:00 a.m. January 30, on Los Coyotes Diagonal, just south of Palo Verde Avenue.
Authorities said Martin was riding his bicycle northbound on Los Coyotes Diagonal and had a green light when he allegedly made an unsafe lane change across multiple traffic lanes and was struck by a 2015 Toyota Corolla, driven by an 88-year-old Long Beach man.
Martin was rushed to the hospital where he later died.
The car driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
The police are investigating the crash.
