59-Year-Old Julian Manney Killed in Bakersfield Collision on Highway 99
Bakersfield, California (March 24, 2020) – A 59-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle collision that took place early Sunday morning in Bakersfield, according to the authorities.
Julian Manney, 59, of Los Angeles, died in the crash that happened just after 4 a.m. Sunday, March 22, on Highway 99, just north of Highway 119, according to the Kern County Coroner’s Office.
CHP said Manney was driving a Volkswagen Jetta northbound on Highway 99 when he was struck from the back by a big rig driven by Jeffrey Culver, 43.
Manney died in the accident.
Culver sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Kern Medical Center.
The CHP is conducting an investigation into the incident.
