Leticia Marquez ID’d as Woman Killed in Santa Ana Pedestrian Accident on Standard Avenue near Edinger Avenue
Santa Ana, California (April 29, 2019) – The woman who was killed early Wednesday morning in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident in Santa Ana has been identified as Leticia Marquez, 40, according to the police.
The deadly accident happened just after midnight, April 24, on Standard Avenue near Edinger Avenue.
Police said Alberto Solano Diaz, 38, was traveling on Standard Avenue when they hit Marquez.
A police officer who was traveling on Standard Avenue found Marquez lying unconscious in the roadway with major injuries and stopped to help her. She was taken to the hospital where she later died.
Diaz was seen on surveillance cameras fleeing the crash scene. Diaz’ car was later located, and it had significant front-end damage.
Police said Diaz was intoxicated at the time of the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
