Man Killed in North Sacramento Pedestrian Crash at Walerga Road and Bainbridge Drive
North Sacramento, California (November 29, 2020) – An 81-year-old man died after he was struck by a vehicle while walking his bicycle on a sidewalk in North Sacramento on Friday morning.
The fatal crash happened at around 9:20 a.m. in the area of Walerga Road and Bainbridge Drive.
The California Highway Patrol said a 31-year-old Sacramento man was driving Honda CR-V on Bainbridge Drive when he struck the elderly man.
The victim was rushed to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. He was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
