Marcelo Pereira Identified as Motorcyclist Killed in Pauma Valley Crash on South Grade Road near Palomar Mountain
Pauma Valley, California (April 12, 2021) – Marcelo Oliva Santos Pereira, 50, of El Cajon, has been identified as the motorcyclist who was killed in a Saturday morning traffic accident in Pauma Valley, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Bureau.
The fatal motorcycle accident transpired at about 11:55 a.m., on April 10, on South Grade Road near Palomar Mountain.
According to the authorities, a sedan was headed westbound on South Grade Road when it drifted across the double yellow line into the opposite lane, where it collided with an eastbound motorcycle operated by Pereira.
Following the collision, Pereira was thrown off the bike onto the roadway, the officials said.
Pereira was injured in the accident and was flown to Palomar Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Traffic on the roadway was stopped for an unknown period due to the accident.
Further details regarding the collision were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
