Michelle Jeffers Identified as Victim In Fatal Crash at Madera De Playa Road at Calle Contento in Temecula
Temecula, California (May 23, 2020) – The woman who was killed Saturday evening in a two-vehicle crash in Temecula has been identified.
Michelle Jeffers, 50, of Temecula, died following the wreck that occurred at around 4:50 p.m. Saturday, May 16, at the intersection of Madera De Playa Road and Calle Contento.
Authorities said Jeffers was driving a 2007 Mercedes E350 westbound on Madera De Playa Road when she ran a red light at the intersection and was broadsided on the driver’s side door by a 2018 Ford SUV that was heading northbound on Calle Contento at about 35 MPH.
According to the authorities, the northbound and southbound traffic lanes on Calle Contento does not have a red light at the intersection.
Jeffers, who was the lone occupant of the Mercedes, was flown to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar, where she was pronounced dead.
The driver, a 60-year-old man, and three passengers in the Ford, a 62-year-old woman, a 57-year-old man, and a 59-year-old woman, all from Murrieta, were taken to Inland Valley Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
The accident remains under investigation.
