Motorcyclist Killed in Suspected DUI Crash on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Sacramento

Sacramento, California (February 22, 2021) – A motorcyclist was killed in an alleged DUI collision that happened on Saturday night in Sacramento, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The fatal crash was reported at around 10:27 p.m. February 20, on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at Franklin Boulevard.

The police said a 2002 Chevy Tahoe, driven by 23-year-old Alonso Gonzalez Moreno, was traveling northbound Franklin Boulevard at a relatively high rate of speed when it rear-ended the motorcycle.

The impact of the crash ejected the motorcyclist from the bike.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

Moreno admitted to having alcohol earlier in the evening. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

Moreno was not injured in the crash.

An investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
