Man Dies after Fresno Pedestrian Accident at First Street and Ashlan Avenue

Fresno, California (October 17, 2020) – Authorities are investigating a Friday night traffic accident that killed a male pedestrian about a mile south of Fashion Fair Mall in Fresno.

The deadly hit-and-run pedestrian accident transpired at about 8:00 p.m., on October 16, at the intersection of First Street and Ashlan Avenue.

According to the police, the man was possibly hit by a northbound older red-colored truck while crossing the intersection in unclear circumstances.

Sadly, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The involved driver left the pedestrian lying on the highway and fled the scene.

Traffic on northbound First Street near Ashlan Avenue was stopped for an unknown time due to the accident.

An investigation into the collision is underway.
