Silvia Gonzales Arrested after Fresno County Car Crash on Colorado Road at West Sumner Avenue
Fresno County, California (November 7, 2019) – Silvia Gonzales, 42, was arrested on suspicion of DUI after a double fatal collision on Wednesday afternoon near Tranquility in Fresno County.
According to a local news source, the crash happened shortly after 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 6, on Colorado Road at West Sumner Avenue.
According to a CHP report, a Mercedes was rear-ended by a Honda that failed to slow down on Colorado Road. The Mercedes then spun into the opposing lane and was struck by a pickup truck.
The Mercedes caught fire due to the impact of the crash.
Two people riding in the Mercedes at the time of the crash were both killed in the accident.
The 38-year-old driver of the truck and a 1-year-old child in the vehicle were both hospitalized with minor-to-moderate injuries.
Authorities arrested Silvia Gonzales, who was the driver of the Honda, on suspicion of DUI. She was suspected of driving while under the influence of marijuana and other illegal substances.
The crash is under investigation.
