Violet Nazari and Juan Munoz Killed in Sylmar Car Crash on Foothill Boulevard

Sylmar, California (May 18, 2021) – Two people were killed in a head-on collision in Sylmar on Sunday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The deadly collision happened in the 16637 block of West Foothill Boulevard near Balboa Boulevard at about 9:30 p.m. May 9.

A 50-year-old man was driving a car on the roadway when he drifted into the opposite lanes and collided head-on with a car driven by 57-year-old Violet Nazari, of Granada.

Nazari died at the scene of the accident.

Juan Munoz, 32, of Sylmar, who was a passenger in the other vehicle, was transported to an area hospital where she died while undergoing treatment.

The driver of the other car was hospitalized with unspecified injuries.

No additional information about the accident was provided.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
