Woman Killed, Man Injured in Cupertino Car Crash on 280 Freeway near Wolfe Road

Cupertino, California (May 17, 2021) – A woman was killed in a suspected DUI collision that left a man seriously injured in Cupertino on Saturday night.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 11 p.m. May 16, on northbound Interstate Highway 280 south of Wolfe Road.

A Nissan Altima is reported to have collided with a Nissan Sentra e for unknown reasons. The impact of the crash sent the Altima off the roadway where it crashed into a tree.

An unidentified female passenger in the Altima was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The male driver of the Altima was hospitalized with major injuries.

The driver of the Nissan Sentra was medically cleared before being arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of DUI.

More information about the accident was not provided.
