Man Killed in Fontana Car Accident on 10 Freeway near Cherry Avenue
Fontana, California (July 7, 2023) – On Thursday evening, a man was fatally injured after a multi-vehicle on Interstate 10 in Fontana.
The California Highway Patrol said the collision occurred at around 4:24 p.m. July 6 on 10 Freeway at Cherry Avenue overpass.
A northbound Toyota truck made a sharp eastward turn and slammed into the eastern concrete K-rail.
The Toyota then sideswiped two vehicles before proceeding northbound where it rear-ended a flatbed trailer being towed by a stationary semi-truck.
The 55-year-old Palmdale man driving the Toyota was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
A driver of one of the sideswiped vehicles was hospitalized with minor injuries.
An investigation into the collision is underway.
