1 Dies and 2 Others Seriously Hurt after Twentynine Palms Accident at Sandy Lane and Amboy Road
Twentynine Palms, California (July 11, 2019) – Authorities are investigating a deadly collision that left one person dead and two others severely hurt Wednesday evening in the area of Twentynine Palms.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at around 7:20 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, at Sandy Lane and Amboy Road.
Officials said that a black pickup truck towing a black sedan and another car crashed head-on for unknown reasons.
Responding firefighters confirmed one person dead at the scene as a result of the crash. The name of the fatal victim was not immediately provided awaiting notification of next of kin.
Two persons were pinned in one of the vehicles and were extricated. One of the injured parties was airlifted to Desert Regional Hospital while the other was flown to Arrowhead Regional Hospital for treatment of severe injuries.
The names of the injured persons and their current condition were not immediately known.
An investigation into this incident is ongoing.
