Anaheim Police Say 4 Hurt after Car Crashes into Restaurant Friday Afternoon in Anaheim

Anaheim, California (May 23, 2020) – Police said four people were injured when a car crashed into a chicken restaurant Friday afternoon on Lincoln Avenue in Anaheim.

According to police, the car crashed into the restaurant at about 1 p.m. at a shopping center near Empire Street.

The man driving the car mistook the gas pedal and brake as he pulled into a parking stall and ended up crashing into a glass window.

The impact shattered the glass window, injuring the restaurant occupants. The vehicle, however, did not hit anyone.

Two women and two children suffered minor injuries in the incident.

A video of the incident showed the driver pulling into the parking stall at a slow speed but then suddenly accelerates instead of stopping.

Authorities said the driver was unlicensed and will be charged with driving without a license.

The driver cooperated with the investigators and was released at the scene.

Police are investigating whether the driver will face other charges.
