Driver Hurt in Friday Afternoon Car Crash on Highway 243 in Idyllwild Identified
Idyllwild, California (May 17, 2019) – Authorities identified the driver who was injured when two vehicles collided Friday afternoon in Idyllwild.
Police said the accident occurred at about 12:35 p.m. on Highway 243 near Saunders Meadow Road.
74-year-old David Reidford, a resident of Palm Springs, was driving a white 2014 Nissan Rogue southbound on the highway when he turned left onto lower Saunders Meadow Road directly into the northbound traffic.
The Nissan collided with a blue 2004 Jeep Wrangler driven northbound by Luis Felix, 47, of Idyllwild.
Reidford was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center with the complaint of pain. Felix was not hospitalized.
The crash remains under an active investigation.
