Isabel Akerlundh Killed in Moreno Valley Car Accident on Gilman Springs Road

Moreno Valley, California (May 21, 2019) 48-year-old Isabel Akerlundh of Moreno Valley has been identified as the woman killed in a head-on collision Monday morning in the area of Moreno Valley, according to a local news source.

The crash was reported at around 7:25 a.m. Monday, May 20, on Gilman Springs Road at Big Nash Road.

As per the report, a 2015 Dodge Charger driven by 39-year-old Alexander Orellana was heading westbound on Gilman Springs Road when for an undetermined reason; it swerved across the double yellow lines and crashed head-on into an eastbound Volvo S40 driven by Akerlundh.

One of the vehicles went down an embankment following the crash.

Responding firefighters declared Akerlundh dead at the scene.

Orellana was extricated and transported to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley with severe injuries.

No additional information concerning this crash was provided.

An investigation is ongoing.
