Juan Silva Casares Dies after San Luis Obispo Crash on Highway 46 near Cholame “Y”
San Luis Obispo, California (August 8, 2019) – 48-year-old Juan Silva Casares, of Creston, has been identified as the man killed after a traffic collision Wednesday night in the area of San Luis Obispo, according to a local news source.
The collision happened at around 10:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 7, on Highway 46 near Cholame “Y”.
As per the report, a 2015 Honda Odyssey minivan was traveling eastbound on Highway 46 when it attempted to make a left turn onto Highway 46 and crashed head-on into a westbound 1997 Ford F-150.
Casares, the right front seat passenger in the Ford truck was declared dead at the scene. Authorities said the victim was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
The two drivers and three other passengers were transported by ambulance to Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton for treatment.
A passenger was flown to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in San Luis Obispo for treatment of severe injuries including head, eye and ear lacerations.
Another passenger was taken to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center by ambulance.
No other information concerning this crash was provided.
An investigation is underway.
