Woman Killed in Multi-Vehicle Collision at Winchester Road and Thompson Road in Winchester
Riverside County, California – A woman was killed in a multi-vehicle collision on Friday afternoon in Winchester.
The collision happened in the area of Winchester Road and Thompson Road at about 4:05 p.m. May 22.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2020 Kia Optima is reported to have rear-ended a 2017 Ford Fusion that was stopped at a red light in the southbound lanes Winchester Road.
The impact of the collision caused the Ford to strike a Toyota Corolla that was making a left turn onto Winchester Road.
A 43-year-old Winchester woman who was driving the Ford was transported to Inland Valley Medical Center where she died while undergoing treatment.
A passenger in the Kia, identified only as a Temecula woman, was also transported to Inland Valley Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
The police arrested the Kia driver, 34-year-old Joshua A. Morris of Temecula, on suspicion of DUI.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
