Woman Killed in Clairemont Accident on Highway 52
Clairemont, California (May 27, 2023) – Authorities are investigating a collision that happened Friday afternoon in Clairemont.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred just before 1:00 p.m. on Highway 52.
As per the report, a Chevrolet stake-bed truck exited from southbound Interstate 805 onto eastbound SR 52 when it lost control and toppled over.
The truck spilled its load, and some fell down the connector bridge.
The debris hit an eastbound Mercedes-Benz SUV traveling below, and a female passenger in the vehicle was killed.
The CHP says both drivers were not hurt in the crash.
DUI is not suspected to have played a role in the collision.
The crash remains under investigation.
