Jesse Rio ID’d as Rider Killed in Morgan Hill Motorcycle Accident on Highway 101
Morgan Hill, California (March 21, 2019) – 30-year-old Jesse Del Rio of San Jose has been identified as the motorcyclist killed after a traffic collision Saturday evening in the area of Morgan Hill, according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office.
The collision happened at around 5:10 p.m. March 16, on Highway 101, south of East Dunne Avenue.
Authorities said that Rio was riding a 2011 Yamaha on northbound Highway 101 when he failed to stop for slowing traffic and slammed into a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado. Rio was ejected onto the Highway as a result of the impact.
Rio suffered severe injuries and was transported to Regional Medical Center in San Jose, where he later died.
The Chevrolet driver, a 45-year-old woman suffered minor injuries as a result of the collision.
No additional details concerning the incident were provided.
An investigation is underway.
