Joshua Boykin Killed in Jamestown Motorcycle Accident on Highway 120 near O’Byrnes Ferry Road
Jamestown, California (March 15, 2019) – A male motorcyclist struck and killed by a vehicle Wednesday evening in the area of Jamestown has been identified as 45-year-old Joshua Cody Boykin of Ceres, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The collision happened at about 6:25 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, on Highway 120 near O’Byrnes Ferry Road.
As per the report, Boykin was riding his Yamaha motorcycle eastbound when he attempted overtaking the slower-moving car and was struck by a Chevrolet Tahoe driven by 25-year-old Jeffrey Smith of Turlock. The driver and Boykin were trying to overtake the slow traffic when the collision happened.
The impact sent the motorbike up an embankment and the rider was thrown off the bike. Boykin who was wearing a full-helmet at the time was declared dead at the scene.
Smith and his passenger 24-year-old Anycze Munson of Turlock were not injured in the collision.
No additional information concerning this incident was provided.
