Authorities Arrests Michael Roads Following DUI Arden-Arcade Pedestrian Accident at Arden Way and Watt Avenue
Arden-Arcade, California (January 14, 2021) – A pedestrian died at the scene after being struck by a suspected DUI driver, 69-year-old Michael Roads, at an intersection in Arden-Arcade Tuesday evening.
The fatal crash happened at Arden Way and Watt Avenue, just about 6:40 p.m. on January 12.
A white GMC Sierra pickup, driven by Michael Roads, reportedly struck a male party while walking in the eastbound lanes in a marked crosswalk.
As per the California Highway Patrol report, the unidentified man died in the accident.
Roads, a Carmichael resident, was arrested by police on suspicion of DUI.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
