Javier Espinoza Killed in Keyes Semi-Truck Crash at Keyes Road and Foote Road
Keyes, California (August 14, 2019) – 92-year-old Javier Espinoza of Crows Landing has been identified as the elderly man killed after a traffic crash Monday afternoon in Keyes, according to authorities.
The deadly collision happened at around 12:38 p.m. August 12, at Keyes Road and Foote Road.
As per the CHP officials, Espinoza was driving his 1994 Ford northbound on Foote Road when he failed to stop at a stop sign at Keyes Road and was broadsided by a 2015 Freightliner traveling eastbound on Keyes Road.
The Freightliner was operated by 32-year-old Cesar Jimenez of Ceres. A 2013 Kenworth that was making a turn onto Foote Road then sideswiped the big rig.
Espinoza suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The drivers of the two semi-trucks were not injured in the crash.
Officials blocked Keyes Road for several hours to give way to an on-scene investigation.
No additional details concerning this crash were provided.
An investigation is underway.
