Castaic Tractor-Trailer Collision on 5 Freeway near Parker Road Off-Ramp Kills 63-Year-Old Ventura Man

Castaic, California (September 17, 2020) – A traffic collision involving a big rig in Castaic, Wednesday morning, left a 63-year-old Ventura man dead.

At approximately 12:01 a.m., the California Highway Patrol responded to the deadly accident on Golden State (5) Freeway near Parker Road.

The mishap involved a tractor-trailer and a Castaic Tow flatbed driven by the 63-year-old man northbound on Interstate 5 in the No. 3 lane behind.

The tow truck reportedly slammed into the back of the tractor-trailer in the morning hours for unknown reasons.

The tow truck was declared dead at the crash site.

Neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected factors in the accident. An investigation into the crash is underway.
