Fatal car crash in Pasadena, CA

Two cars caused a fatal collision at the intersection of East Villa Street and North Lake Avenue in Pasadena, California around 7:00 on the morning of March 30, 2016. The accident left two people dead, a 17-year-old boy and a 23-year-old man. The vehicles involved were a light blue 2006 Kia Sonata and a maroon 2003 Ford Mustang. After the collision’ the Ford Mustang hit a traffic pole and was left wrapped around it. Pasadena Firefighters worked hard to rescue the injured persons stuck in the severely damaged Mustang. The passenger of the vehicle was the 17-year-old boy and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was the 23-year-old man and he was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead. Other passengers of the Mustang were two male ages 22 and 27 and they both sustained moderate injuries and were hospitalized and remained in stable condition. All four of the people in the Mustang were residents of Pasadena. The 46-year-old woman who was driving the Kia Sorrento was taken to the hospital to treat minor injuries.
The reason for the cause of the accident are under investigation and the Pasadena Police Department is asking anyone who may have information in regards to the accident to please call Lt. Pete Hettema at 626-744-7159.
