Driver Runs Red Light Which Causes Fatal Car Accident in Santa Ana

February 8, 2016

On February 8, 2016 a man named Mitchel Virturino was driving down the road and was hit by another driver. Unfortunately for Virturino, the accident was fatal as he died from his injuries. He was 61 years old. The Orange County Register reports that a driver in a Mercedes was speeding down the road and ran a red light which resulted in hitting Virturino. The accident occured at the intersection of North Bristol and West 1st Street. When the accident occured, a 2006 Mercedes was speeding down the road and broadsided the 1999 Ford Mustang that Virturino was driving. As a result of this accident two injuries and one death took place.

The witnesses at the scene told the authorities that they saw two men leave the Mercedes shortly after the accident. The men appeared injured and to be in their 40’s. One of the men was lying in the grass and taken to a local hospital for a medical evaluation. The man was suffering from back pain and hip pain from the car accident. There was another man who suffered a broken leg along with some minor cuts. Despite both men denying being the driver, there is some blood evidence that can help identify the driver who was at fault of the accident. The authorities believe that the driver who caused the accident was driving above the allowed speed limit and ran a red light.
