One person died and several others were injured during a crash in North Hills during Mid-April. The crash happened around 8700 Haskell Avenue at around noon. The injured included three children.
The crash was massive and featured a car that rolled over. The response from emergency professionals was massive. Over sixty firefighters responded to the crash. Police investigating the scene discovered that the family that was injured during this crash was either on its way to a soccer game or was leaving a soccer game.
The crash was heavily influenced by a minor incident that occurred just up the road on Sepulveda Boulevard. A young woman driving a Toyota 4Runner hit a car, and immediately fled the scene. The other driver pursued her car, but stopped when she realized the 4Runner was going too fast.
Unfortunately, the young woman did not slow down in time to avoid the minivan right in front of her car. She hit the minivan at top speed, immediately injuring the family of five. The van was destroyed, and the father was killed in the accident. The van flipped over at such a high speed that several bystanders were injured. The driver of the 4Runner and her passenger were injured as well.
The three children involved in the case were immediately sent to pediatric trauma centers.
