Carlsbad: Cyclist Struck by Ford Fiesta, Dies Instantly

On March 16th of 2016, death robbed a lady cyclist of her life. The lady was hit by a car in the area of Carlsbad Boulevard. The incident happened exactly between Tierra Street and Sequoia Avenue. The accident was very serious such that traffic came to a standstill on the busy highway near the beach. The incident was immediately confirmed by the San Diego law enforcement.

Reports by the Police department revealed that the deceased was a fifty nine years old. She was cycling Southbound and for some strange reason she swerved right into the first lane. It was at this point that she was hit by a Ford which was on that lane. The impact was too high for her to survive. The accident saw the close down of the street and motorists had to be redirected to use an alternative route.

The person driving the Ford was also a lady of sixty four years. She had to remain on the scene to respond to the law officers who had question for her. According to the police, the Ford driver was not found to be driving under the influence of any drugs or toxic substances, for this reason they could not charge her.

Flowing this accident, and with California leading other states in the number of motor cycle accidents, police cautioned all riders to be extra careful. They further added that such deaths were unnecessary if only people observed the law.
