San Dimas, CA : A 12-year-old boy was critically injured when he crashed his bike into moving car in San Dimas on April 5, 2016.
According to the sheriff’s department in San Dimas, a small boy was riding his bicycle and crashed into a car that was traveling down the road.
After the accident, the sheriff’s spokesman says that a helicopter was needed at the scene and airlifted the small child to the Los Angeles County USC Medical Center.
According to authorities who were at the scene, the accident occurred around 1:30 pm.
Sgt. Vicki Gregory of the sheriff’s department noted that the incident took place on San Dimas Avenue and Second Street. Sgt. Gregory said that the small boy was not wearing a safety helmet when he crashed into the moving car. The child was taken to the hospital as a precaution and his father was immediately notified. The father reunited with the boy in the hospital.
According to Sgt. Gregory, as a result of the investigation, the driver who pulled over after the incident to check on the boy was not cited because of the collision.
Because of the age of the child, no further details were released and at this time the condition of the boy has not been updated until the investigation is complete.
