Triathlete Injured In Felton Bicycle Accident

Felton, CA – Triathlete Nick Moless, 37, was struck and injured in a hit-and-run accident near Alpine Road, according to California Highway Patrol.

At about 9:00 a.m., Moless was riding his bicycle along a popular cycling route on Highway 35. A group of motorcyclists attempted to pass him. One of the cyclists clipped Moless’ bicycle with his wheel and knocked him off his bike, hurling him several feet.

California Highway Patrol responded to a hit-and-run call about 9:10 a.m and found Moless semi-conscious on the shoulder of Highway 35. He was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The motorcyclists were described as wearing dark clothing and driving chrome-colored bikes. The bikers remain unidentified.

Due to the serverity of Moless’ injuries, he was forced to cancel several events. His recovery is expected to take serveral months.

An investigation is still ongoing. When located, the bicyclists responsible will face hit-and-run charges.
