Foresthill – Driver killed in head-on crash with truck in Foresthill

The driver of a 2004 Nissan Murano was killed when crashing head-on into a logging truck at approximately 7:00 am on Wednesday morning. The driver was identified by officers as a forty-five year old woman from Auburn. She was allegedly headed West on Foresthill Road traveling at high speeds, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The Murano crossed the yellow lines into the opposite lanes, crashing into the truck. The crash threw the woman from the vehicle into westbound lanes. She was pronounced dead by officials on the scene. According to those investigating the scene, the woman was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident. Alcohol or illegal drugs do not appear to have been a cause of the accident. Her identity has not yet been released by investigating officials.

The driver of the logging truck was identified as Charles Knuckey, a resident of Foresthill. There was considerable damage done to the truck, but Knuckey was only reported to have had minor injury, according to the California Highway Patrol.
