Big Rig Hit and Run Causes Fatality in Vernon, CA

A big rig in Vernon recently caused an accident that resulted in the loss of one young man’s life. The accident occurred at a intersection in Vernon, Ca on Saturday, April 30. Two men in a pick up truck were reportedly attempting to cross the intersection when a big rig came barreling through the red light, hitting the pick up truck and trapping it beneath the trailer of the big rig. At this point, the driver of the big rig reportedly removed the pickup from the trailer of the big rig, got back in the truck, and fled the scene of the accident. Authorities were called to the scene of the accident along with medical professionals. The driver of the pick up truck was rushed to the local hospital where he was treated and listed as stable. The passenger of the pickup truck, a 28 year old male, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The authorities issued a statement describing the driver of the big rig as a tall white male. They are now searching for the man in relation to the accident. If found, the driver of the big rig will face charges for fleeing the scene of an accident, hit and run charges, and possibly vehicular manslaughter charges because his hit and run resulted in a death.
