A California Highway Patrol officer was ejected from his motorcycle when it collided with a Mini Cooper on the I-170 highway near North Hollywood. The collision happened close to 8 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the highway, which were closed for a short period of time with video and photos of the scene revealing the law enforcement motorcycle was left overturned at the scene.

Three lanes of the northbound highway were blocked in a bid to allow paramedics the chance to remove the injured law enforcement officer, whose name was not released to the public. Paramedics arrived at the scene around 8.20 a.m. and treated the officer, who was seen in video to be laying beside the central divider of the highway; the driver of the Mini Cooper was not injured in the wreck. The northbound lanes of I-170 were reopened around two hours after the accodent took place.
