Presiliano Chavez Killed by Car on 5 Freeway near Zoo Drive in Glendale
Glendale, California (June 2, 2023) – 41-year-old Presiliano Chavez of Sun Valley was struck and killed by a car on the 5 Freeway in Glendale Wednesday night.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the incident was reported at around 11:15 p.m. on May 31 on the southbound 5 Freeway near Zoo Drive.
Chavez was tending to a disabled vehicle when a passing 2012 Nissan Versa struck him.
Chavez was declared deceased at the site.
The Nissan driver, Rachel Fewings, 33, of Los Angeles, stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The disabled car driver also remained at the location.
Fewings was not arrested, according to a police report.
Alcohol and drugs were not believed to have played a role in the collision.
The crash remains under investigation.
