2 Killed in Yreka Car Accident on Highway 3
Yreka, California (June 5, 2023) – According to the California Highway Patrol, two parties were killed in a traffic collision Saturday in Yreka.
The tragic accident happened on Highway 3 on June 3.
CHP said a pickup truck was southbound on State Route 3 when it drifted into the gravel shoulder on the right side.
The truck driver then tried to correct the truck but swerved into the northbound side and crashed into the side of an SUV.
The two parties in the truck died in the incident.
The driver of the SUV and three of her passengers sustained major injuries. A fifth person in the SUV had sustained minor injuries.
The patients were transported to Fairchild Medical Center.
An investigation is ongoing.
