Pedestrian Killed in Bakersfield Crash on Union Avenue near 7th Street
Bakersfield, California (June 5, 2023) – A pedestrian was fatally injured by a car on Union Avenue in Bakersfield Sunday night.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the incident occurred around 11 p.m. on June 4 on Union Avenue near 7th Street.
Reportedly, a man and a woman were in the centre median, entered Union Avenue outside the crosswalk and were hit by a northbound vehicle.
The female pedestrian was declared dead at the crash site while the male pedestrian was transported to a hospital in severe injuries.
The driver remained at the site and cooperated with the officers.
Speed, alcohol and drugs were not suspected in the wreck.
The crash remains under investigation.
