A collision involving multiple vehicles on Interstate 5 near the highway 46 exit in Lost Hills, California claimed two lives today. Witnesses say that three vehicles were involved in an accident on the northbound lane of Interstate 5. The fatalities included a 20 year old man and a 51 year old woman. Another two drivers, a 23 year old man and a 48 year old woman were injured in the wreck.
Reports indicate that a Ford Yaris driven by one of those killed hit the center dividing barrier and then collided with two other vehicles. The force of the collisions caused the Ford to explode and the vehicle was badly charred. Both the driver and the passenger of the Ford vehicle were said to have died instantly from the inferno.
The deadly accident caused a massive traffic pileup stretching for over 15 miles. Police reopened all lanes of the Interstate 5 from the Highway 46 exit by nine o’clock in the afternoon. Several more people were involved in the car crash, but none of the additional people suffered any serious injuries.
