Fatal Crash Shuts Down Highway 395 Near Adelanto

On Friday, November 27, 2015, at 10:43 PM, a collision between a Toyota Camry and tractor-trailer was reported on Highway 395, nearest to mile marker 22, in Adelanto, CA. The female driver was found trapped inside the sedan. She was extricated by emergency responders using the jaws of life.

Initially, San Bernardino County Fire called for air-transport, but the request was later cancelled. The male passenger in the sedan sustained minor injuries, and was taken by ground ambulance to the hospital for treatment.

Driver and passenger in the semi were not treated for injuries. According to the passenger, he and his father were traveling from Fresno to Los Angeles via 395 South. He stated that the sedan crossed the lane divider and continued directly into the tractor-trailer.

The fatality will be further investigated by the San Bernardino County Major Accident Investigation Team as one of many recent collisions on this section of the highway, dubbed by locals “Blood Alley.”
