Irvine – The construction worker who died at a site near Irvine has been identified as 60-year-old Paul Nagle of Earp.
The accident occurred around 8:30 a.m. near the 12000 block of Baracana Parkway. Irvine Police and other emergency personnel responded to the scene and found a body near a crane.
“It appears that the worker may have been killed by the crane,” said Irvine Police Spokesperson Farrah Emami.
The Santa Ana division of Cal/OSHA went to the construction site to investigate, said a spokesperson from the California Department of Industrial Relations.
“Although we don’t know all the specifics, we are fairly certain that his death was related to the crane in some fashion. We are still investigating,” said spokesperson.
The victim was employed by the Orange-based Mr. Crane.
“We believe it was an industrial accident. There is no evidence to believe that foul play was involved,” said Emami.
Nagle, and Earp native, had recently sold his home to move closer to his job.
The accident is currently under investigation by multiple agencies.
