LOS ANGELES, California (July 22, 2016) – A 36-year-old mother was seriously injured and her young child killed after being struck by a pickup while they were crossing Broadway at 59th place, authorities said.
The crash occurred about 7:10 AM when a pickup truck struck a mother and infant while they were crossing the road. The two were in the crosswalk at the time of accident.
Juana Oxlaj and the infant were rushed to California Hospital Medical Center for treatment. Unfortunately, the young child died shortly after their arrival at the hospital.
Juana suffered severe head trauma but is expected to survive, according to authorities.
