ZAMORA, California (July 25, 2016) – A pilot was killed Saturday morning after two crop-duster planes crashed midair in Yolo County, according to Yolo County Sheriff’s Office.
The deadly crash took place about 7:45 AM near the crossroads of County Roads 99E and 13 between Zamora and Knights Landing.
One of the pilots was killed in the crash which occurred on a private property. The other pilot survived the crash with minor injuries. The name of the victim was not made public pending family notification.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesperson, Allen Kenitzer, said that the cause of the collisions is unknown.
The National Transport Safety board and Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the deadly crash.
