William Kerl Killed in Motorcycle Crash on McGregor Boulevard  at Cypress Lake Drive in Fort Myers

Fort Myers, Florida (March 25, 2018) – The motorcyclist who was killed Saturday morning in a crash with a vehicle in Fort Myers has been identified as William Kerl, 49, of Fort Myers, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The fatal crash took place at around 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 24 on McGregor Boulevard at Cypress Lake Drive.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Kerl was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle in the inside lane of McGregor Boulevard when a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu was heading southbound approaching the intersection.

The driver of the Chevrolet made a left turn and drove into the path of the motorcycle. The front of Kerl’s motorcycle was then struck by the passenger side of the Chevrolet.

Kerl was declared deceased at the incident site.

Kerl was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

No further information regarding the crash was immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
