Beatrice Patrick and 2 Killed in Wrong-Way Collision on Interstate 77 near Sharon in Kanawha County

Kanawha County, West Virginia (March 26, 2018) – Three people were killed Saturday evening in a multi-vehicle collision in West Virginia, according to State Police.

The deadly collision took place on Interstate 77 near Sharon on Saturday, March 24.

According to the State police, a vehicle driven by 77-year-old Beatrice Patrick from Salyersville was driving the wrong way in the southbound lane when it collided with another vehicle. The second vehicle then veered off the road and slammed into a disable box truck.

Patrick died at the scene.

The driver of the second vehicle, 49-year-old James Platte from Westphalia, Michigan, and his wife, 38-year-old Tonya Platte, died following the crash.

No further information regarding the crash is available at this time.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
